Tubex acquires Matrametal Kft

Tubex Holding GmbH, based in Rangendingen, Germany, has acquired the Hungarian packaging manufacturer Matrametal Kft. The two companies have agreed not to disclose the terms of the purchase.

Matrametal is a manufacturer of aluminium packaging with more than 60 years of experience. The company produces aluminium aerosol cans and aluminium tubes in Sirtok, Hungary,

Tubex has been a packaging specialist for aluminium aerosol cans, aluminium tubes, aluminium cartridges and plastic tubes for the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, food and technology markets for more than 70 years.

Following the acquisition, the seven production sites of Tubex Group will have a capacity for 700 million aerosol cans and 1.6 billion aluminium tubes. More than 1,700 people will work at the production sites.

Dr Cornelius Grupp, managing director of Tubex Holding GmbH, said: “The acquisition of Matrametal complements the strategic orientation of Tubex Group in terms of location, customers and market.”
